Vikings vs. Bears Preview

This Sunday two NFC North teams collide for the second time this season. The Chicago Bears travel north to Minnesota to face the Vikings. Both teams are coming off back to back losses and are looking to get back on track. The Vikings currently hold a 2 game lead for the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs and are one game behind in the NFC North race to the 9-4 Green Bay Packers.

I predict this will be a big game for Adrian Peterson. In the 2012 season(last time the Vikings made the playoffs)  he had his best three games during the last three games of the season, concluded with a 209 yard performance against the Packers. It will take a big effort by Adrian Peterson the next three games to have a chance to win out and win the NFC North.

The Vikings are beginning to get healthy with safeties Andrew Sendejo and Harrison Smith returning to the practice field. Defensive Tackle Linval Joseph also returned to the practice field on a limited basis.

Here are the keys to victory against the Chicago Bears: On offense, run Adrian Peterson 20 carries or more and have a good mix of the run and pass game and keep it simple with quick passes that will soften the blows on Teddy Bridgewater. On defense: Keep Matt Forte contained in both the run and pass game, and don’t let Alshon Jeffery beat you.

Final Score Prediction: Vikings 24, Bears 14

Getting to 9-5 would be a big step in the season and it would mark the first winning season in the Mike Zimmer era which does have significance. Skol Vikings.
